So, things didn't happen today. I spent the entire day getting the battery in the car I'm using while I'm in Yakima replaced. I mean, I didn't have to pay for it, but it took up the entire day because it was dependent on other people and their schedules. Hopefully things will become more doable tomorrow. Book reports are due tomorrow, too. I've got to go now.

So, I'm bad at this.
Okay, so I haven't posted for a while. I'm in Yakima now, and hopefully going to find some support here, though I'm not really sure where to start at this point. I know I need to be interacting with people but I'm not quite sure where to go first. I do know that Monday is a bad day to try to get a hold of people as a rule, so I'm currently trying to get situated. I need to finish up some reading, too. I finished Trusting God but I still need to read Asking, though that's only 100 pages. Anyway, things are coming along, but slowly. I know I can get a t least half the money, I'm just waiting to hear about the other half. God is in control, though and He will make things happen as He sees fit.
Peace.

Another Week
So, I went to Yakima over the weekend and spent father's day with my dad as well as getting to spent Saturday with Tiffany. I also set up my bbq thing with my parents' church which will happen August 2nd. Hopefully that'll bring in a considerable amount. I'm meeting with Mike Kelly on Thursday, so we'll see how that goes as well. I feel like there's very little for me to do at this point and I don't like it. I want to be able to call people but there's a lot of waiting for other people to get back to me going on. It'll work out, though.

So Yeah
Last night went amazingly. I have something like 15 people to call/email on a list, as well as $100 from Faith Tacoma PCA. Everyone was really friendly and really interested. I'm super excited for following up with people. Today wasn't the day for that, though, or for anything really. I spent all day helping my CM replace the breaks on his car. It was awesome. So yeah, now I'm going to go have dinner because I'm hungry.
Peace.

First Event
Well, I'm really nervous. My first event is soon. I leave in just under two hours and I have no idea what It'll be like. I have to just try to meet as many people as possible and be friendly. I'm really nervous. Pastor Jim from the Harrah Community Church said he'd support me, though and it looks like I'll do an event there in August. And my new Bible is rediculously amazing. It has so much material. It's hard to actually read the Bible with all the commentary I keep on wanting to look at. It's amazing.
Well, I know this is short but that is that. I took some of the morning off to go canoeing since I'm doing stuff tonight. I should do some reading today, though.
Peace.

Good Day
So, some good things happened today. I got my box of books. My new ESV study bible is absolutely gorgeous. I went to coffee with someone this morning, which ended up going past noon, so I didn't get a ton of work done this morning, but I replied to some emails, wrote more emails and made a couple calls. It seems like emails are really a lot more effective than calls. Ryan, my Campus Minister will be here any moment to talk about stuff tomorrow, when I'm going to Faith Tacoma to speak at their prayer meeting. Darin, my housemate sent in a pledge of $50 a month, yesterday. That was a big thing. It was my second specific dollar amount actually getting sent in for me. I have a feeling that it's going to be when I speak at things that things start steamrolling. So, basically tomorrow and then in July, probably. It's a little later than I might hope, but things really are coming in slowly but surely.
I finished Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands today. It was a good book. And good timing. I have my June books, now, so I'll start reading the first of those, maybe tonight. Or maybe I'll play with my new Bible. I'm excited about that. I haven't been doing nearly enough Bible studying lately. I'm excited for getting to write down thoughts here, though.
Anyway, that's all for now and I'm sure I'll have things to write tomorrow, though you might have to wait till the day after to hear about my speaking at the prayer meeting.
Peace

Here Goes
Well, I did it. I gave in and I made a blog. Maybe I'll even end up updating it on a regular basis. I guess we'll see.
So far, I've called a bunch of churches. I'm going to Faith Tacoma on Wednesday to speak at their weekly prayer meeting. Next month, on July 19th I'm going to Covenant in Issiquah. I need to get down to Yakima. There are a lot of people I can pursue in person down there that I can't do so much here. Plus my parents' church want to do a barbecue to help me raise money. They also might give me money. I think they're really excited about having someone who's doing ministry. They probably don't see that too much. Maybe it'll have really good results. We'll see.
Anyway, today I've sent a few calls and a few emails and I'm waiting to hear back from people well reading Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands. I'm almost done with it and my other books are supposed to come in on Wednesday, meaning that I'll be able to finally start reading my June reading, now that I'm halfway done with my reading for August.
Anyway, maybe I'll write in here daily. It'd probably be good.
Peace,
Alex
